Donations go to providing financial assistance for expenses like bills like groceries. The Salvation Army also gives out meals to families and supports homeless shelter resources. During Christmas, donations also make sure kids have presents to open on Christmas morning even if their families cannot afford them this year.
The Salvation Army relies heavily on donations through its red kettle program. This year, however, there will be fewer red kettles out due to coronavirus precautions.
